With Yamaha focusing on the scooter segment more, most fans of the R series were a bit disappointed . With most other manufacturers bringing out their bigger 250-400cc machines /upgrades these fans felt a bit left out .Rumors of a 250cc bike had surfaced for quite sometime now .Now there is reason for joy as there is official confirmation from Yamaha about a 250cc bike.

“We will focus on the scooters category for year 2013, but in 2014 we will launch powerful sporty 250cc bike in the Indian market. There is a good market for this premium segment which we would like to tap,” Hiroyuki Suzuki, MD and CEO, Yamaha India, said."

The details of the new bike remain uninformed, we are expecting the bike to be in Lines of the R15 .Due to the long wait and the increased competition we can be sure that the bike will be something to look out for. The bike should be bigger and sportier racing machine . The bike is expected to be Twin cylinder , churning out 30bhp and priced aggressively at about 2.1 lakhs

2014 is fast becoming the best year so far in terms of bike release . Some of the other confirmed bikes are:

1) The Pulsar 375
2) CBR 300r
3)Triumph 250cc
4) An aprilla 250r
